Talon

European Eagle Owl (Bubo bubo)

 

These are are native to parts of Europe and are known to be breeding in the UK. These

owls have a long wingspan, up to 6 ft if a female. Talon is a male and got his name due

to his unusual single white talon at the back of his foot, and has a 5 ft wingspan. He is

used on our Handling Sessions for Close Encounters and has been part of the team

from the age of 10 days old!

 

He likes to keep us awake at night with his hooting, that goes on, and on, and on......
